OSHARA MUTUAL DOMESTIC WASTEWATER ASSOCIATION
The Oshara Mutual Domestic Wastewater Association (OMDWA) is a non-profit association to provide wastewater services to Oshara Village homes and businesses. It includes sewer lines and a treatment plant. Treated wastewater is pumped to a ponding location, or into irrigation lines for village landscaping in summer months. The treatment plant is operated by certified staff and is permitted and monitored by the EPA and NMED.
A volunteer Board of Directors oversees the management. The Board meets monthly at meetings which are open to those who wish to attend via zoom. All owners in Oshara are automatically association members.
Owners can support their wastewater system by attending the Annual Meeting, paying sewer fees regularly, using biodegradable cleaning products and not putting oil, grease, “flushable” wipes or other objects down their drains. More
information on this can be found in the documents on Policies and Procedures and Sustainable Water System included here.
The next scheduled meeting is listed in the latest months meeting minutes. The upcoming meeting agenda is emailed out prior to the next meeting to all Oshara owners.
